In 2006, Facebook opened to the public and was no longer restricted to students. Facebook is now taking off as a serious marketing tool for the professional athlete.
Alexandre Roty first discovered social media, while he was doing a marketing internship in the USA for a snowboard apparel brand. Alexandre was quick to understand back in 2007 that Myspace was THE place to be, so he already recognises the importance of these new digital tools and he knows how to use them.
Five years after this experience in North America, Alexandre has now launched his own digital and social media consulting agency: The Other Pitch.
With five years’ experience in the sport and web industry, he is now based in London – he speaks French and English fluently. To focus 100% on The Other Pitch, he left his job as a Digital Content Manager for a leading European sports media agency, Factory Media Ltd, where he had worked for almost four years. At Factory Media, Alexandre worked with a range of clients, including ESPN, Red Bull, Vans and Nike, as well as with many pro athletes.
